Working with an analysis to answer a specific question can include pinning the data you want to keep in front of you. Pinning is a process in which you exclusively mark information for the purpose of focusing a data search. Leave data unpinned that does not focus on the answer to your question. Check boxes provide a fast way to filter out irrelevant data. You can check single or multiple items in the list. Click the PIN button after making your choices to include selected items and advance to the next level. Pinning narrows the scope-of-search to the data you check at each level.
To pin one or more items in the check box list, select the check boxes needed (click the box to produce a checkmark) and click the PIN button in the bottom navigation link bar. Use SELECT ALL and CLEAR ALL to quickly manipulate a large number of check boxes.
Some questions are best answered by pinning information in more than one tab. Pinned items are “remembered” when you switch to another tab.
