Installing the Netscape Navigator Charting Plug-in

In Netscape Navigator, it is necessary for you to install a charting plug-in. The Netscape charting plug-in is a supporting file that enables you to display any page containing a chart. This process only needs to be performed one time, and has been initiated because you have requested your first chart.

Note: You may wish to print these instructions for easy reference.

To install the charting plug-in for Netscape Navigator:

  1. From an Internet Reporting Services Standard Report, click Charts.

  2. Select a chart from the Select Chart dialog box. The Plug-in Not Loaded dialog box displays (See below).

  3. Click Get the Plug-in. You should now have two Netscape windows open.

  4. Close the Netscape charting window that opened this page. You should now only have open the Welcome to the Charting Plug-in Installation page in Netscape.

  5. Click on the download hyperlink (in blue) to install the charting plug-in.

  6. When prompted with the "Unknown File Type" dialog, click the "Save File..." button.

  7. Save the charting plug-in file (NpCass.dll) to the <Netscape>/Program/plugins directory. (The most likely directory is C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator\Program\Plugins or C:\Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\Program\Plugins).

  8. Close all Netscape windows, restart Netscape, and log in to the Cass Information System web site again.
